Trunk Club Unboxing | February 2019

I’m so excited to share my latest Trunk Club box with you guys!

I believe this is my 4th trunk that I’ve received from my stylist, Khat. I get so excited when I receive my box of goodies in the mail!

Let’s dive in and I’ll let you know what I decided to keep this time around.

Something Navy Stitch Trouser Belt – Returned

I am in need of a basic black belt and this one fits the bill. I just figure I could find something similar for half the price.

Leith Slim Cardigan – Returned

This would have been the piece I would have gotten the most wear out of. I go through black cardis like water. This one was small and tight and the material was not very soft.

Chelsea28 Tie Front Top – Returned

I found this top to be very cute and flattering. It would be a great piece for work. The problem for me was the material – not a bit of stretch. I had trouble getting it over my head and that freaks me out.

Caslon Miccah Mule – Returned

I liked these, but didn’t LOVE them. I would have preferred leather over suede. Also, I don’t understand how to wear mules in the winter. Please let me know if you figure it out!

REFORMATION High & Skinny Jeans – Returned

These were a nice quality. Sadly, they were too tight in the waist and too long. Bummer.

Chelsea28 Cutout Surplice Top – Returned

When I saw this in the preview, I was excited. A good black top is an absolute staple. I wear black ALL the time, so it would be practical. What is not practical are the cute cut-outs. There’s no way to hide a bra strap, which is a deal-breaker for me.

J. Crew Faux Wrap Velvet Top – Returned

I love velvet. I just don’t know how to pull it off. Is it appropriate for the office? I have no idea. Sad, because it is cute and the price is right.

CODEXMODE Shawl Collar Jacket – KEPT!

When I first saw this, I wasn’t loving it. The material looked crinkly or something. But when I tried it on, I immediately thought it would be great to add to my office attire. Plus, my daughter told me to keep it (probably because it’s pink)!

Levi’s Mile High Super Skinny Jeans – Returned

They are not kidding when they say “mile high”! These jeans are excellent quality, which is to be expected of Levi’s. Unfortunately, they were too tight on me.

Madewell Dashwood V-Neck Sweater – Returned

I wanted to love this sweater – basically because it’s by Madewell. But, I just wasn’t digging the sleeves. I think they would be cute folded (like they are on the model), but it wouldn’t work on my long arms. Also, it was almost cropped on me, which I’m not a fan of.

Vince Camuto Ponte Ankle Pants – Returned

I didn’t bother trying these on, TBH. I wear black dress pants a LOT and I always get them at NY&Co on sale for a fraction of this price.

1.State Off the Shoulder Sheer Chiffon Blouse – Returned

This one threw me for a loop. The color and material are gorgeous. It’s just not my style – I can’t pull-off the bare shoulder trend.

It may seem like like this trunk was unsuccessful, but I’m happy that I found one awesome item. For me, the only negative aspect of Trunk Club is the prices, which tend to be on the higher side (hey, I’m an Old Navy girl). But, sometimes you just need to treat yourself. You are paying for better quality items, so if you know you will get a lot of wear out of something, then it’s totally worth it!

That’s it for this unboxing. Let me know if you’ve tried out any clothing subscription services and which is your favorite. I’ve also tried Stitch Fix and Wantable, which I may talk about in a future post.
